Outsourcing has plenty of business interested in it. There are many who consider it a wonderful way to put away wealth mainly in the face of the financial slump that we have been facing lately. This is also on magnificent way for you to work with a project knowledgeable – say for example, an practiced translator to work on courses in the vein of Rocket Chinese and Rocket French.

With these an impressive list of positives one would be forgiven for expecting businesses to line up in order to have their processes outsourced – unhappily, that is hardly the case. It is true that there are many organisations available who are on the edge of having something outsourced, but they rarely go through with it. This can be mostly attributed to the fact that many people consider outsourcing to be intricate or even difficult. They are incorrect if they think this is so. It is, on the contrary, quite unproblematic and here are some tips you can use to make them less difficult.

TIP 1 – Do Your Study. Always keep in mind that this is extremely central when outsourcing. You could possibly be asking what should you be researching regarding. Where your next break should be since you already have all this saved capital or time from outsourcing a method?

No, you should instead spend your time seeking where good outsourcers can be found. Put the stress on ‘good’ because there are so many outsourcers on the market and many of them are no good at what they do. One of the most excellent things you can perform is to be sure to ask the outsourcers for client references. E-mail those on the list and ask them for some honest view – both good and bad. For bad feedback, ask how it was took care by the outsourcer and how it was made improved.

TIP 2 – Be clear and recognize what you want. In life, you should identify what you want, the same goes for outsourcing. As a good example, let us say that you want an outsourcer to craft a product similar to that of Rocket Japanese for you. You will have to be able to pass on what you want exactly. Be incredibly exact when it comes to your specs.

TIP 3 – Permit some time for editing. This will be mainly of help if you were not able to present exact instructions.

The activity of outsourcing critical tasks to third party vendors is becoming increasingly more popular.  It is an ideal use of a speaker’s or author’s resources to take advantage of outsourced help while promoting their speaking services or book.  And, small to mid-sized companies have had to let full time staff go and delay hiring new employees because of the recent economic conditions.  This results in a larger pool of talent looking for work.  The answer is very often outsourcing.

The advantages for the small business, speaker, author or other entrepreneur purchasing the outsourced services include:

1.    The Commitment Does Not Have to Be Permanent.  If you find that an outsourced resource is not a good fit, you are free to end the working relationship and find someone else.

2.    Less Employment Overhead.  When you are making money and need help, you can get it.  When you don’t, there are typically no expenses involved.

3.    Can Outsource Easy or Complicated Projects.  From legal situations to minor office tasks, you will be able to find an outsourced situation for whatever you may need.  Small business owners outsource any number of tasks, but some of the more popular are virtual assistant tasks, website and Internet marketing, and even bookkeeping and accounting.

The person providing the outsourced services can benefit as well:

1.    Choose Your Own Employer.  If you find that a working relationship is unhealthy, you can “fire” the company and find a better fit.

2.      Flexible Work Schedule.   As a contract worker, you can work on your own terms and time frame, and are often able to complete the work from home.

3.    Any Economy.  Even when traditional jobs are not available in your field, you are often able to earn fees on an outsource basis.

Outsourcing benefits both the entrepreneur, author, speaker or small business owner purchasing the service and the outsource service provider, which is why this type of service is here to stay.

The entrepreneur, author, speaker, or small business purchasing the outsourced service enjoys the following advantages:

1.  No Permanent Commitment is Required.

1.  You Don’t Have to Commit Full Time to Outsourced Help.

1.  The Commitment Does Not Have to Be Permanent.

If you aren’t happy with someone you have chosen to outsource work to, you can sever the relationship easily and find a better fit.

If you find that an outsourced resource is not a good fit, you are free to end the working relationship and find someone else.

It is easy to end a working relationship with an outsourced service provider and find someone else if a situation turns out to be a bad fit.

2.  Saves Employment Overhead.

2.  Reduced Employee Overhead.

2.  Less Employment Overhead.

You pay for the work you need when you need it.   When you don’t, there are typically no expenses involved.

You only pay for the work you need at the time you need it.   When times are slower, there are generally few if any expenses involved.

When you are making money and need help, you can get it.   When its slow and you don’t need help, you aren’t paying to keep someone busy.

3.  Can Outsource Very Simple Tasks to Very Complex.

3.  Can Outsource a Wide Array of Critical Tasks.

3.  Can Outsource Easy or Complicated Projects.

From legal situations to minor office tasks, you will be able to find an outsourced situation for whatever you may need.   Some of the more popular tasks that small business owners outsource are “virtual assistant” duties, website and Internet marketing tasks, and even bookkeeping and accounting.

Whether it is an unexpected legal situation or minor office duties, you can find an outsourced service provider to meet your needs.   Small business owners outsource any number of tasks, but some of the more popular are virtual assistant tasks, website and Internet marketing, and even bookkeeping and accounting.

You will be able to find an outsourced service provider to meet your needs whether those are complicated legal issues or simple office tasks.   Small business owners have found good success with outsourcing any number of tasks, but some of the more popular are accounting and bookkeeping functions, virtual assistants, and even website and Internet marketing.

The person providing the outsourced services can benefit as well.

Outsourced service providers benefit from the relationship as well.

There are benefits for the person providing the outsourced services as well:

1.  Choose Your Own Employer.

1.  Pick Who You Want to Work With.

1.  You Choose Who You Work With.

You choose who you want to work with, and if you find a situation that isn’t working for you you can “fire” them as well.

If you find that a working relationship is unhealthy, you can “fire” the company and find a better fit.

Since you are responsible for choosing who you work with, if a working relationship doesn’t work you can move on to a better fit.

2.  Flexibility.

2.  Flexible Work Schedule.

2.  Easy Scheduling.

You are generally able to work on your own hours and terms, and most of the time you are able to work from home or in a “virtual” situation.

As a contract worker, you can work on your own terms and time frame, and are often able to complete the work from home.

You can often complete your work from home, and have control over your hours and other terms.

3.  Any Economy.

3.  No Economic Reliance.

3.  Any Economic Situation.

You are generally able to earn a living outsourcing your services even when traditional jobs are not available in your field.

Even when traditional jobs are not available in your field, you are often able to earn fees on an outsource basis.

The ability to earn on an outsource basis is not reliant on your ability to obtain traditional work that may not be available in your field.

It is evident that outsourcing is here to stay, and that is a good thing for both the small business owner, entrepreneur, author or speaker purchasing the outsourced help and the outsourced service provider.

Outsourcing is a situation that will persist, which is beneficial to both the author, speaker, entrepreneur or small business owner purchasing the service and the service provider.

Outsourcing benefits both the entrepreneur, author, speaker or small business owner purchasing the service and the outsource service provider, which is why this type of service is here to stay.

Are You Doing Work That Defines Your Value Per Hour?

In my recent trip to Bali, I met one interesting person, Arthur Carmazzi, who made me realize the power of outsourcing.

He services the world in terms of corporate training, online training material and videos. He is the owner of 5 websites and currently lives in Bali. He has 8 Balinese employees who each earns $200 per month from him. Imagine how much he gains with the currency exchange alone? His earnings are in global currency while paying only $ 1,600 per month for his 8 employees. And his websites are all amazing.

A very informative discussion with him taught me the importance of outsourcing properly. There are a lot of business owners who persist in overseeing every detail of their online strategy and who end up doing more non-value added work. This is a shame because they should have been concentrating instead, on marketing techniques that will bring in more sales and value to the company.

In this post, I will answer 2 questions:

1) What to outsource?

When deciding on what to outsource, there is a need to consider opportunity costs in terms of value and mental benefits.  If you have one hour to spare, would you rather communicate with a prospect or update a website, which is really something that could be cheaply outsourced to a website designer.  It makes the decision easier.

These are the questions you should ask yourself before attempting any work:

  • Can I outsource this to someone else who can do a better job and at a lower cost?
  • Are there other more important activities to the business that I can work on?
  • Can I take this time off to chill and refresh myself for bigger ideas, rather than completing an administrative task?

If you answer Yes to any of the above questions, it is time to seriously consider outsourcing your work to someone else while you bring in more value or personal creativity into your company.

2) How to outsource?

Once you have decided to go ahead and outsource your work. What are the steps to outsource it?

  • Write down your expected results of the task
  • Write down the timeline, job description and expected quality of the task
  • Go to www.elance.com or www.odesk.com to find a suitable virtual assistant or hire an expert in the field who you trust
  • Email them your results, timeline, job description and expected quality of the task
  • If possible, show them a template before starting
  • Ask them if they have any additional questions. (As in some countries, they are uncomfortable to ask any questions, double check before proceeding)
  • Set milestones and check on the progress of the work

After observing the successful and not so successful people, I realize that successful people do the RIGHT THINGS FIRST. All of us have only 24 hours a day, but your success will be determined by how well you manage them.

It is now time for me to wish you luck as you start outsourcing and give yourself the much needed time to concentrate on bringing more value to your business. Successful business people enjoy prosperity and happiness by outsourcing correctly as they know that they cannot do everything themselves.
