World Ventures Founders – Changing The Way People Travel

World Ventures founders Wayne Nugent and Mike Azcue wished to combine the best of the internet and the travel industry in order to create a travel-based network marketing company. They launched it from their office in Las Vegas in December 2005. The company now runs completely in the black, allowing its members both to travel at discounted rates, and to sell travel packages themselves.

Today, President Robert Oblon and Chief Marketing Officer Dan Stamen provide leadership. Grant Merz is director of their Dream Trips program. This program allows its members to travel, taking advantage of World Ventures’s purchase of bulk trips at a greatly reduced price. Members have a choice of vacation spots in the US, cruises or stays at luxury hotels abroad.

Rovia is World Ventures’s exclusive travel provider, which is in partnership with many fantastic vacation providers such as Carnival Cruise lines, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Go Go Vacations, Melia Hotels and Resorts, Riu Hotels and Resorts, Funjet Vacations, MLT Vacations, Outrigger Resorts, Elite Island Resorts and Barcelo Resorts.

The founders of World ventures wanted to create an enterprise wherein people not only travel but could also become Leisure Travel Consultants (LTCs), selling vacations through Rovia. LTCs get access to a custom website, and earn commissions on travel booked through the website. They also gain commissions for bringing in recruits to become future LTCs. These websites only sell vacations through Rovia, but they do not make the members actual travel agents.

Many World Ventures LTCs become disappointed, and soon leave the system. This is because although the world-wide travel industry is upwards of $8 trillion, it is a very competitive marketplace. Leisure Travel Consultants are encouraged to show their websites to family and friends to make their sales.

Showing a website to family and friends is not necessarily the best way to promote it. The number of visitors will be predictably limited. Marketing is both a science and an art, so it is impossble to enjoy success without having undergone specialized training. Fortunately, marketing programs exist that train people how to sell successfully, with any company or product.

Many of these programs are available online, allowing a more flexible learning schedule than a traditional marketing school. It is possible to learn how to market while working on a full-time job at the same time. Many marketers substitute their website income for that earned with their current jobs, once they have mastered the fundamentals of marketing.

I’m sure the World Ventures founders had the best of intentions when they encouraged their members to become resellers. Unfortunately, their members will achieve greater success if they pursue their marketing knowledge from a different source.
